How do I book a surf trip with Asia Surf Charters Sumatra?
The best and fastest way to secure a spot (or multiple) on one of our unforgettable surf trips is to send us a Booking Request. You'll be able to select the week of your choice if there are still availabilities.
If you have any question, please get in touch by email or phone (AU number).
Do I need an Indonesian Visa for my surf trip?
No, you don't need a visa for stays under 30 days. However, a proof of return ticket might be required, so make sure that you have one booked.
If you'd like to continue exploring our beautiful region, you'll need to contact the Indonesian Embassy prior to travel to arrange this.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes! Travel insurance is mandatory and must include medivac.
We would recommend a travel insurance company experienced in the surf industry throughout Indonesia (i.e. STI - Surf Travel Insurance or World Nomads).
Can I be contacted while onboard the Asia?
The Asia has a satellite phone for emergencies, however, general phone service is limited but available in some areas.
What should I bring for the boat charter?
The Asia supplies a checklist for what you need to bring on the charter. When you receive your booking information your checklist will be attached.
How much is it to have a photographer?
The photographer is $250 AUD p/p and requires at least 4 persons to commit to photography.
If a full group takes the photography package the price is negotiable.
How much is the Mentawai Surfing Tax?
The Mentawai Surfing Tax is 1 Million Rp and is payable in Padang before departure.
The Surfing Tax is not included in the charter price.
How do I get to Padang?
The easiest way to fly into Padang international airport is via Kuala Lumpur or Jakarta.
Many of our guests use Air Asia and Garuda Indonesia for international flights.
Lion Air, Sirwijaya Air and other domestic carriers are also used when flying from other areas of Indonesia.
